Contracted by the EC Rep in the UK

The result of referendum on the United Kingdom’s EU membership has created uncertainty in the lives of EU citizens residing in the UK. Many have been asking questions about the application of EU law and what their EU rights are now and what they are going to be in the future. The outcome of phase 1 (the Joint Report) of the negotiations under Article 50 TEU on the UK’s orderly withdrawal from the EU and the publication of the Draft Withdrawal Agreement has provided some clarity on these issues.

The contents of these documents are not yet very well known by EU citizens residing in the UK. Therefore engagement by the charity, voluntary, private, and social sector groups, through publicly held events will help EU citizens, and the British public, to understand EU rights in the context of Brexit.

EU Rep Events

European Commission Representation in the UK (EC Rep) is working with us and the EU27 Embassies to arrange public presentations and Q&A events on EU citizens' rights.

The aim is to ensure EU citizens, and all those connected to the lives of EU citizens, understand their current EU rights, to learn what their rights will be after the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, what will be expected from EU citizens when making a ‘settled status' application, and to provide general reassurance that EU citizens residing lawfully in the UK prior to the UK’s withdrawal will have their rights protected.

You can view past events on the
EC Facebook page, on our Twitter feed, and our Facebook page.
