The Law Society has published its views on the Government's proposals to cut legal aid. The proposals explain how access to justice can be safeguarded whilst still making financial savings. At the same time they have established a Sound Off for Justice campaign. The campaign aims to put pressure on the Government to reconsider the proposed cuts that will deny millions of people with significant legal problems to access legal representation. You can support the campaign, and find links to its Facebook and Twitter pages, here.

You can also lend your support to the Justice for All campaign. This campaign is a coalition of charities, legal and advice agencies, politicians, trade unions, community groups and members of the public. Justice for All believes current cost cutting plans will damage access to justice. The right advice early on can save £10 for every £1 invested and keep families together in their homes, and in work and education. Join their campaign here.
