The UK Border Agency today lowered the marriage visa age to 18 for serving members of the armed forces and their partners.

This means the spouse of a member of the armed forces may be granted permission to come to or stay in the UK as the spouse, civil partner, fiancé(e), proposed civil partner, unmarried partner or same-sex partner at 18.

The minimum age for all other applicants remains at 21 years old.
