Momtaz Rahman

Operations and Projects Manager

Momtaz joined Seraphus in 2021 and currently leads the operational delivery of legal services, alongside strategic oversight of projects. She spearheads the development and delivery of Scotland’s Migration Service, overseeing content strategy, communications, and client service operations.

Prior to her role at Seraphus, Momtaz led strategic equality initiatives in the Higher Education sector, contributing to multiple university-wide and departmental awards from Advance HE in race and gender equality. She also played a key role in securing a top 100 ranking in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, advocating for LGBTQ+ rights. Her background includes policy roles focused on embedding inclusive practices across academic institutions.

In the migration sector, Momtaz has held project management roles including at Migrants’ Rights Network, where she managed London-based advocacy projects and collaborated closely with local migrant community networks. She co-founded a drop-in centre for migrant communities in Greenwich and serves as a trustee of Migration Work CIC, where she co-manages a micro-grants scheme supporting grassroots community organisations.

Momtaz holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
